Strawberry Park Hot Springs

Rating: 2.6/5 (27 votes cast)

Strawberry Park Hot Springs is located approximately 7.0 miles from beautiful downtown Steamboat Springs and they are one of the most attractive mineral springs in the world.

Hot Springs Creek is nestled between Rocky Peak and Copper Ridge. This is the point where a series of hot springs spew from the hillside at temperatures of approximately 150 degrees fahrenheit, and flow down into the creek.

There is no heat or electricity on the premises. Therefore, if you plan to go at night, be prepared that you won't be able to enjoy the natural surroundings. You will have difficulty seeing even a few feet in front of you; elderly travelers or those prone to falls may want to visit in daylight, as the pools are very rocky and uneven. Recently, shower / toilet rooms have utility to the wilderness, but they are a bit of a walk from the pools, and again may be a challenge for older or impaired travelers. The teepee changing rooms are unheated, so be prepared if you visit in winter!

There is also a massage cabin that offers several types of massage, including a water massage in a private pool. It is open during limited hours and is not available in the evening, so plan to call ahead if you're interested in this service. Massage and Watsu therapists available from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm daily. Therapists are fully licensed & insured. Reservations recommended to ensure therapist availability in this beautiful mountain setting. Get the best of both worlds... Share the experience... Try side-by-side massage with a friend or partner. Our team of therapists can even come to you.

The handbuilt all-stone pools differ in temperature making the springs perfect for any liking and the overall seclusion combined with the natural style of construction makes Strawberrypark one of the most beautiful hotspings in the country. However, those seeking a truly relaxing, comfortable more "spa-like" experience should consider other alternatives.

Things to Do

Go to the old downtown & hit the shops. Many times around big holidays the shops will give you discounts. Also note, most of the shops didn't have the very high prices that Aspen and the other resorts are known for for just as nice of clothing.

Nightlife

The Tugboat is Steamboat's most popular local bar, and is a favorite of ski bums for its casual bar atmosphere, live music, and the likelihood that at some point there will be girls dancing on the bar and shooting drinks that are on fire. A fun downtown place is the Rio Grande, which serves strong margaritas for which they enforce a cutoff (chalk it up to lessons learned) and has decent Mexican food. The Tap House is a good option for people looking for a pint.
