The Huvafen Fushi Resort is recommended for an amazing honeymoon.
Huvafen is a beautiful very small island in the Maldives. We had heard wonderful things about it and decided to go there for honeymoon. Fortunately we decided to go to 2 islands over our stay, so were able to compare the experience.
The good things about the island: The 'wild life' is good, you can see the feeding of the sting rays, (not to be missed) every day at 6.30pm, watch the baby sharks swim in the shallow waters, see the bats in the trees, or feed the fish at sinner, and a larger shark or two may arrive. We saw dolphins whilst in the gym, which is also semi decent. The spa was lovely, I had one of the best facials I had ever had. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms (we stayed in a lagoon bungalow) were perfect. The sun set cruise is nice (although the 'canapés' are more like 2 minute nibbles!). The bar had a good few 'happy hours' and free wine tasting, so we made good use of this.
Food choices at Huvafen Fushi Resort is limited to 2 dinner restaurants and 2 lunch restaurants. Salt had nice food, but a very limited menu (if you don't eat shell fish) and was quite expensive for the small portions. Raw was good for healthy food, but extremely expensive for what you got and left us hungry. The service was slow in the day (a burger and salad took 40 minutes to arrive). If you go on full board/half board, you wont even be able to eat in Raw/Salt without paying extra for it (less a small % discount as you are on full/half board) so I would not advise to go this route. The 'occasion' dinners such as the lobster barbecue cost $295 pp. Huvafen Fushi is definitely not a budget destination for honey-mooners.
