Almost Paradise is a small, secluded, all-inclusive beachfront resort in the Fiji Islands offering kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, sailing, SCUBA diving, & plenty of rest and relaxation on the water’s edge.
Almost Paradise has only 3 bures (guest cottages) so you will experience no crowds. There are no roads within several miles so access is by water only. Almost Paradise is a great place for honeymooners looking for a romantic getaway, or anyone who just needs peace & quiet, surrounded by water, rainforest, & birds singing.
Location
They are situated in Sau Bay on the eastern side of Vanua Levu in Fiji’s friendly Northern Island group, only a 35 minute boat ride from Taveuni Island or 20 minute boat ride from Buca Bay on Vanua Levu. The resort comprises 99 acres and most of it is still pristine rainforest. If you’re looking to SCUBA dive, we are only minutes away from the world-famous Rainbow Reef in the Somosomo Straits.
Accommodation
Accommodation consists of three free-standing, fan-cooled bures (guest cottages) each with en suite, showers, and lighting, plus a double bed. They can add a single bed, if needed. Each bure also has a timber deck with two comfortable Adirondack chairs, and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities. All 3 bures are oceanfront and non-smoking. If you wish to smoke, you may do so outside.
Dining & Entertainment
The Welcome Reception Bar includes a dining area. Snacks and cold drinks are available for sale, plus beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages. Our dining tables & chairs are all custom-made right on site. They accommodate specific food requests, allergies, likes & dislikes, whenever possible. Nightlife at Almost Paradise is what you make of it. Almost Paradise can tailor your visit to meet your needs, but expect old-time Fiji environment during your stay.
Facilities
Electrical outlets are located at the restaurant for convenience of recharging batteries or other personal devices. All bures are solar powered with lighting & fans.
Activities
Free activities include sailing or rowing our 8’ Walker Bay sailboats in our beautiful, calm bay, kayaking on individual sit-on-top "Ocean Kayak Frenzy", snorkeling in our protected waters - snorkeling gear provided free of charge. They have 2 hiking trails... our challenging "Bush Walk" has incredible views of surrounding islands and is full of wild guava, passionfruit, limes, & other tropical fruit, along with tropical birds and a "Fruit Bat Viewing Area". The "Garden Walk" is a shorter, easier, and more relaxing hike with colorful, tropical plants, fruits, & trees. Activities available for a fee include SCUBA diving on the world-famous Rainbow Reef. Almost Paradise organise this with Dolphin Bay Divers. There is also hand line fishing, rod/reel fishing, snorkeling at Rainbow Reef and other selected boat destinations. Plus Internet access.
Diving
For all you SCUBA divers out there, they offer SCUBA diving with Dolphin Bay Divers at the world-famous Rainbow Reef in the Somosomo Straits. Here you will experience vast amounts of soft corals, hard corals, turtles, sharks, and an infinite variety of other tropical fish and sea life.
